Please note that the policies and practices set forth in this Privacy Policy are for this website only, and that NIS reserves the right to alter this policy at any time by posting a new privacy policy at this location.

Collection of Information

NIS collects two types of information through our website:

  • Personally identifiable information  collected that you choose to give us  (personal data)
  • Aggregate information  collected automatically (general web activity)

Personally Identifiable Information

It is important for you to know that we do not collect personal information about you or your child unless you voluntarily provide it to us. We collect personal information from you when you request information, submit an online inquiry form, respond to a survey, make a donation to the school, or elect to receive electronic notices or other similar communications and activities. If you do not want your personal data collected, please do not submit it.

NIS will not share, sell, trade, or transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. However, this does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website or conducting our services to you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. Note that NIS may also release your information when we believe it is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect the rights and safety of others or the school.

Aggregate Information (Collected Automatically)

When you visit this site, even anonymously, we may automatically collect information (“Aggregate Information”) about you. Aggregate information does not personally identify a specific user.

Aggregate information helps us design the website to enhance your experience and provide better service. Examples of aggregate information collected include the type of Internet browser you are using, the type of computer operating system you are using, the IP address of your computer, the domain name of the website from which you linked to this site and the date, time and pages that you visit. This information provides us with statistics on website usage and helps us to evaluate generalized user demographics. This aggregate information is used internally to help us best serve the needs of visitors to our website.

This website may also use “cookies” in order to customize your experience.  Cookies allow the website to tailor the experience to your interests and preferences and do not contain any identifiable personal information. Cookies may also be used for the purpose of tracking page visits and other aggregate site statistics. Cookies enables us to see what pages in our website interest you most, but are anonymous in nature. If you prefer not to receive cookies, you can change your browser configurations to refuse cookies, or alert you when they are being used, but some aspects of this website may not function properly if your browser is set to block cookies.

Security and Viruses

NIS and its service providers maintain commercially reasonable safeguards to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of the Personal Information provided by you. Whenever users submit personally identifiable information via online forms, for registration, or for online donations, the transmission of that information is encrypted. We also take precautions to protect user information off-line. All user information is restricted to authorized employees.

You should keep in mind that no Internet transmission is ever 100% secure or error-free. Email transitions may not utilize such secure transmission techniques and you should never transmit information you consider highly sensitive via less secure methods. NIS cannot warrant the security of any information that you submit to us, and you do so at your own risk.

The school does its utmost to maintain a virus-free system; however, we recommend, as a precaution, that users of our Website run an anti-virus program prior to downloading materials from our site. The school cannot be held responsible for any virus which may attack, damage, or cause loss to a user while downloading from our website.
