Preparing for the 2020-21 School Year
As we begin the summer vacation for students I once again want to thank our community for your support as we have collaborated through the challenges of COVID-19 and online learning during the 2019-20 school year. We hope everyone will be able to enjoy a wonderful vacation with family, wherever you happen to be this summer.
To the parents and students returning to (or joining) NIS next year, we look forward with hope and optimism for the year ahead. At the same time, we remain aware of the difficulties we may face as the world continues to evolve in our understanding and responses to COVID-19. This last COVID update is intended to inform the NIS community of the ways in which the school is planning and preparing for the 2020-21 school year ahead.
(June 26, 2020)
- 1. What type of schooling is NIS planning on delivering next school year? Online or face-to-face?
- 2. How will NIS decide which of these types of schooling to deliver?
- 3. What is the most likely mode of school for the start of the academic year in August? And why?
- 4. What are the financial implications for the various types of schooling, if any?
We will continue to remain connected to the local, national and global situation as the summer progresses and will, of course, update this page in the case of any significant news. The plan is for the next scheduled COVID-19 email updates to NIS families to start up in the first week of August, at which time we will have more concrete plans for the start of the 2020-21 school year.
Until then, thank you for the tremendous amount of support you have all given the NIS community over this past year. We wish you and your families much safety and good health. Please have a wonderful summer!
