Baseball Spring Training Club (Weekend Kids Sports Group)

Middle Schoolers, Let’s Try Baseball!

As one person famously put it, “There are only two seasons - winter and baseball.” It’s time to introduce the all new Baseball Spring Training club!

This club is a joint project with middle school students from local international schools of NIS and ICAN! Actually, any middle school student is invited! The students coming from NIS/ICAN are looking forward to the challenge and fun of learning and playing baseball.

A few dedicated baseball lovers from our community are piloting this weekly, baseball learning time beginning in March.

All students from grades 6-8 are invited to participate. Even if you’re an absolute beginner, you’ll be “safe” here learning what many consider to be the best game in the world. It’s not just America’s pastime anymore! If you already know how to play, come out and serve others by showing what you have learned.

This club is not associated with the NIS middle school baseball team. However, we hope this may serve as good spring training preparation if you play for NIS in the fall!

From March 17-May 26, Spring Training will happen on Sunday afternoons from 2:30-5:30 pm at the NIS field.

Our goals for each week are to gather with at least 18 players, learn fundamental baseball skills from the volunteer coaches, and then play scrimmage games with one another.

Please bring a baseball glove, bat (if you have one), and water bottle. If you have questions or would like to sign-up for Baseball Spring Training club, please email Britt Creamer at creambj@yahool.com.au or Sean Radke at sean.radke@gmail.com

By the way, why play baseball?

“Love is the most important thing in the world, but baseball is pretty good too.” (Yogi Berra)
“You could be a kid for as long as you want when you play baseball.” (Cal Ripken Jr.)

RAIN POLICY:

If it’s raining we will practice in the gym.

NOTE: English language will be used during this time of training but we will have translators available if needed.
