スケジュール


プログラムは午前9時にカフェテリア(Commons)にて開始します。8時45分から9時の間にカフェテリアにお越し下さい。。8時45分より早く到着される場合には、必ず保護者の方がご同伴の上でお待ち下さい。

  • 終了時間は午後3時です。カフェテリアまでお越し頂くか、駐車場にてお待ち下さい。
  • お車でお越しの方ははメインパーキングをご利用下さい。

Course Descriptions

PERIOD 1
(Group A) Magnificent Mazes We will explore motion and movement by constructing mazes using both conventional and less conventional materials.
(Group B) Get Your Move On! Fun PE activities that reinforce movement concepts, maximize activity time, and promote healthy lifestyles.
(Group C1) Space Students will explore space and space travel by doing hands-on experiments and designing and making their own rockets and flying machines. They will compete in age-appropriate teams to see who can make the highest flying, softest landing rockets.
(Group C2) Storybook Creation Students will write and illustrate their own stories; creating a picture book, comic strip, or other text medium to share with others.
(Group D) Drone Drivers Students will build and program Lego EV3 robots and write code to control flying drones. No previous programming experience necessary!

PERIOD 2
(Group A) Warli Art Inspired by a form of tribal art from India, students will use basic geometric shapes to draw people, animals and scenery.
(Group B) Playful Puppets We will collaborate to create puppets that will portray characters from familiar or original stories. Then we will use green screen technology to capture our stories digitally in order to share them with others.
(Group C) Get Your Move On! Fun PE activities that reinforce movement concepts, maximize activity time, and promote healthy lifestyles.
(Group D) Space Students will explore space and space travel by doing hands-on experiments and designing and making their own rockets and flying machines. They will compete in age-appropriate teams to see who can make the highest flying, softest landing rockets. Grade 4/5 students will not only make rockets and flying machines but also explore more sophisticated concepts related to aerodynamics, gravity, black holes, and more!

 


PERIOD 3
(Group A) Story Time This is a time for our younger students to slow down and relax in a quieter setting. Students will have the choice of being involved in reading or being read too, group games or just relaxing to music.
(Group B) Building Stuff Have you ever wondered, what if I tried to make that? How could I construct this? What are the steps I could take to design something meaningful? In this class, we will challenge ourselves to do just that!
(Group C1) Storybook Creation Students will write and illustrate their own stories; creating a picture book, comic strip, or other text medium to share with others.
(Group C2) Mighty Makers Students will use LittleBits electronic kits to make inventions based on simple electrical circuits, and program BeeBot and Sphero Mini robots.
(Group D) Get Your Move On! Fun PE activities that reinforce movement concepts, maximize activity time, and promote healthy lifestyles.

PERIOD 4
(Group A) Gym Time Consists of physical and collaboration skill building activities that challenge students brains as much as their bodies.
(Group B) Warli Art Inspired by a form of tribal art from India, students will use basic geometric shapes to draw people, animals and scenery.

Course Descriptions

PERIOD 1
(Group A) Nature Art Students will create original works using materials gathered in nature. We aim to express ceativity and individuality and nurture a deeper appreciation of our natural environment.
(Group B+C) Triple C Challenge A series of age appropriate physical activities designed to exercise and extend coordination, collaboration and cardiovascular capacities. This is the ‘Triple C Challenge’.

PERIOD 2
(Group A) Triple C Challenge A series of age appropriate physical activities designed to exercise and extend coordination, collaboration and cardiovascular capacities. This is the ‘Triple C Challenge’.
(Group B) Puppet Show A lively activity which gives students a chance to experiment with using different types of puppets and create and perform a puppet show with their friends.
(Group C) Funky Fairy-tales Fairy-tales meet eco-warriors in an activity where kids will use recycled materials like cardboard and bottles to create puppets. These puppets will then be used to tell a popular fairytale, with a twist of course!

(Group C) Acting Masterclass Students will explore how actors use physical and vocal skills through a series of practical workshops in movement and voice, and create a short performance with their friends.

PERIOD 4
(Group A) Puppet Show A lively activity which gives students a chance to experiment with using different types of puppets and create and perform a puppet show with their friends.
(Group B) Funky Fairy-tales Fairy-tales meet eco-warriors in an activity where kids will use recycled materials like cardboard and bottles to create puppets. These puppets will then be used to tell a popular fairytale, with a twist of course!

Group A = Students in Preschool /Kindergarten (Born between 4/1/14 - 8/31/15)
Group B = Students in Kindergarten/Grade 1 (Born between 9/1/12 - 3/31/114)
Group C = Students in Grades 2-3 (Born between 9/1/10 - 8/31/12)
Group D = Students in Grades 4-6 (Born between 9/1/07 - 8/31/10)
  • Group placement will be based on a student's age-determined grade placement for the equivalent of the 2019-2020 NIS school year, which runs from September-August, not the Japanese school year placement which runs from April-March.
  • In cases where students come from different international school calendar cut-off date, considerations will be made for different placement.

Application Requirements

Students must be between Preschool 4 and Grade 5/6 (age 4-12) and have a basic understanding of English, sufficient enough to allow them to follow directions safely and participate in the activities with enjoyment. Please see the requirements under "Enrollment Eligibility".

Session Fees

¥35,000 per student, per session (Lunch fees separate)  *Payment includes the popular Summer Program T-shirts!
