"Pvt. Wars" is a play that portrays the odd comradeship that develops among men who have in common only the fact that they've fought and bled for their country--whether they knew why or not. Set in the psychiatric ward of a veterans' hospital, the play makes perfect sense with its deliberate uneven mixing of humor and sadness. The three characters are perfectly mismatched: and their edgy, unstable friendship becomes a way of holding on, tentatively and desperately, to something approaching a functioning life. They're all they have.
There are two performances - one at 1:30 pm (4/28) and 6:30 pm (4/29). Due to the content of the work, this play is intended for mature audiences only - high school students, their parents and friends.
The production stars high school students Max, Alex and Yuta and directed by J. Freeman.
